If you wish to join Special Friends Club, please read our membership criteria below and then complete the membership form linked at the bottom of this page.

On receipt of your completed application form, we will send you an acknowledgement email and your application request will be reviewed at our next Trustees’ Meeting. Trustees’ meetings take place every two months on average. We will then contact you if your application has been successful and you will be able to join at the start of the next subscription quarter – January, April, July or October.

Special Friends Club Membership Criteria

To be eligible to join Special Friends Club, the qualifying child must:

  • have a disability (with documentary evidence of disability from a medical or health professional), that inhibits them from accessing mainstream activities.
  • reside at an address with a postal code in the counties of either Bristol or South Gloucestershire.

Not all children with special educational needs (SEN) are disabled. Some children who have special educational needs may also have a disability but there will be other children who have a disability but no SEN.

A child is disabled if they have a physical or mental impairment that has an adverse, substantial and long-term effect on their ability to carry out normal day to day activities.
